Chayce & Rachel

Add this one to the list of my “favorite real estate moments” 🥲

I was so excited when I got the news that my brother and sister-in-law were moving back to Fresno! A few months back, my brother Chayce was finishing up his medical residency in Merced and interviewing for positions in the Fresno area. Over the course of the last couple years, him and his wife have lived in multiple cities as Chayce completed medical school and his residency. During this timeframe they also had two kids! Talk about a whirlwind!

Once my brother secured his job, they started dreaming up what they wanted in their first home— a space with enough room for their family of four, a great neighborhood for the kids, and a big bonus would be if they could find a home close to our parents.

Before I get too ahead of myself, let’s rewind to earlier this year, before Chayce finished his residency and signed his contract to work in Fresno. What seemed to be the perfect house came on the market right across the street from my parent’s house. It was a gorgeous house with a huge yard, located at the end of a culdesac. It checked all their boxes and the location could not be beat. The timing wasn’t right but the house was. The house sold within a few days and my brother and sister-in-law chalked it up to being “the one that got away”.

Fast forward to a few months later. Contract to work in Fresno signed. Movers scheduled. Now it was time to find the house! Rachel and I started sending houses back and forth. We weighed the pros and cons of certain neighborhoods, new builds vs. existing construction, etc etc. Then lo and behold the house that they pined for a few months earlier came BACK on the market. Right timing— right house!

We swiftly made an offer but there was another offer that we were competing with. We got creative on some offer terms and crossed our fingers that the seller would select our offer over the other.

This time around it was meant to be! Chayce & Rachel’s offer was accepted and we moved quickly into escrow. A few weeks later they got the keys to their new home.

Congratulations to Chayce & Rachel on their new house! I am so excited for you guys and our whole family.

Cheers! ✨💫
