Ismerai

Ismerai’s home ownership story has to be one of my favorites. On our first phone call, I could tell how excited Ismerai was about the home buying process and the prospect of owning her first home. This was back in May during the middle of a worldwide pandemic, so our buyer’s consultation had to be over the phone instead of in person over coffee. Even though it had to be over the phone, Ismerai and I connected right away and chatted about what the home buying process looked like and what she was looking for in a home. We decided to start her search right away and away to the races we went!

With our crazy competitive market for buyers, we had our fair share of challenges. With so many buyers in the market and not enough inventory of homes to sell them, it can be quite discouraging for buyers who are actively looking and making offers. We placed 6 offers on homes to only be rejected 6 times. One home even had a whopping 26 offers on it! Bidding against numerous investors who were paying cash made it hard for us as we were utilizing a first-time buyer home loan program.

BUT there was lucky NUMBER 7.

Ismerai sent me lucky number 7 on a Friday evening. She wanted to make an offer on it sight unseen. I promptly wrote up the offer and sent it to the listing agent within an hour. We crossed our fingers and the next day received confirmation that Ismerai’s offer was accepted! We were the first people to submit an offer and the seller was quick to accept it. He ended up receiving multiple offers after ours was already accepted — some of which were 20k over list price— but the promptness of our offer set us apart and in the end made all the difference.

A short 30 days later Ismerai closed escrow and received the keys to her new home. It was such a joyous day! I can’t wait to watch her make it her own.

Moral of the story… God has something in store for you.

Even if you can’t see it now.
